I had the honor of writing for CrimeReads. While researching Somebody Worth Killing, I spent a lot of time researching psychopathy—and the sexism inherent in identifying a female psychopath. Further, think of the psychopaths you see in media today—Dexter, Joe Goldberg, etc.—very few women. My main character, Nadia, is a textbook psychopath. This is all about why we need to see female psychopaths, too! You can read it here.
I had the pleasure of writing for Scary Mommy — When The Nicest Mom Isn’t Actually So Nice. How to detect when maybe this isn’t a person you want to be friends with (no matter what sort of first impression they make). This article is inspired after my own experiences with moms who I suspect may or may not be on the psychopathy spectrum (which I learned all about when I wrote Somebody Worth Killing!). You can read it here.
So, I didn’t write this article—Nick Spacek of The Pitch did. But it was so great, I had to include it. This is my Kansas City hometown newspaper. You can read it here.
